Discover this small Central American democracy on a tour of four distinct regions, from cloud forest to rain forest, from Central Valley to Pacific Coast. Your 12-day educational journey with a group of no more than 18 people begins in cosmopolitan San Jose.  Embark on an excursion through the Central Valley to Poas Volcano National Park.  At the Doka Coffee Estate you’ll learn about Costa Rica’s important coffee industry. Explore the Botanical Orchid Garden, and enjoy magnificent night viewing of Arenal Volcano from your lodge. Visit with children at a local elementary school for a fun cultural exchange, then continue on to Ecocentro Danaus, a biological reserve that is home to diverse flora and fauna.  Spend three nights in the Monteverde Cloud Forest, where you’ll take in the hanging bridges Sky Walk, the Biological Reserve, and the Hummingbird Gallery. On a “float safari” along the Tempisque River you’ll see abundant bird- and wildlife. Your tropical journey concludes with a three-night stay at a beachfront resort in Guanacaste on the Pacific Coast.  On an optional 4-day/3-night post-tour extension to Tortuguero National Park encounter exceptional bio-diversity, from rain forest to marsh, in a seaside network of canals, lagoons, and wetlands.
