UC Davis alumni do amazing things: they take leaps in scientific innovation and discovery, they give their time and resources to UC Davis and their communities, they push innovation to create the next big thing. Here at the Cal Aggie Alumni Association, we are honored to recognize these achievements at our Cal Aggie Alumni Awards Gala each year. At this black-tie event, we present seven awards celebrating alumni and one friend of the university for their achievements in different categories, including excellence in their careers, accomplishments abroad, and service to the Aggie community.
For over 100 years, UC Davis’ annual Open House, Picnic Day, has served to display the incredible achievements by students, faculty, and Aggie community members. It is the largest student-run event in the country, with an estimated attendance of about 60,000 people every year. Visitors from all walks of life come to see animals, inventions, performances, and a parade. They come for the food, the fun, and the bright future of UC Davis. The Cal Aggie Alumni Association is a proud sponsor of Picnic Day and hosts a number of events and fun activities for Aggie alumni and their families, including the annual breakfast and an alumni zone. CAAA annual and life members have access to VIP treatment and access during Picnic Day.
Each year, the Cal Aggie Alumni Association invites the Golden Graduates (alumni who graduated 50 or more years ago) back to campus on Picnic Day weekened where we honor them and induct them into the Golden Society. Golden Society members receive special VIP perks on Picnic Day weekend, such as reserved seating at select Picnic Day events.
The Aggie Parent and Family Association, in partnership with the Cal Aggie Alumni Association, is proud to host a number of welcome events throughout California and on campus to help new UC Davis students and their families transition into the college experience and become part of the Aggie Family.
In 1912, students sneaked out of their dorms in their pajamas to greet returning alumni at the train station the night before homecoming. Since then, Pajamarino has been a yearly tradition to kick off the homecoming weekend. The Cal Aggie Alumni Association organizes the event and hosts a number of events during Homecoming Weekend.
Campus Showcase & Parent and Family Weekend is a chance for alumni to rediscover UC Davis and for parents to get a glimpse at their child’s college experience. Families can spend time together at a host of scheduled events and enjoy the hospitality of the Aggie community.
Helping Aggie alumni and current students find meaningful careers is a key mission of the Cal Aggie Alumni Association. That's why we host several, award-winning career networking events throughout the year to help our alumni and SAA members.
