Traditions for Alumni, Parents and Friends

  • Dine at the Coffee House
  • Also known as the CoHo, the ASUCD Coffee House is the largest student-run “restaurant” in the United States, with about 7,000 customers per day. Located in the Memorial Union, the CoHo offers everything – including deli sandwiches, soup, burritos, pizza and delicious cookies and sweets at the bakery.

Our student-led coffee house offers a variety of inexpensive and nutritious food. Whether you’re craving a sandwich, a burrito, or just in need of some caffeine, make sure you come by and visit the most popular spot on campus!

  • Ride a Unitrans Bus
  • Operated under ASUCD since 1968, the Unitrans Bus system is the primary mode of public transportation in Davis. Rides are free for students, and stations can be found on campus at the Memorial Union or by the Silo. A distinct feature of Unitrans is the double-decker buses that were bought from London to operate on two routes. Unitrans provides public transportation to the entire city of Davis with 49 buses on 14 routes and over three million passengers a year.

In order to drive our buses, students have to take a how-to course. Try and catch a ride on the unique to Davis double decker buses imported from the London! (Note: fee is required for non-UCD students)
