Bio

Christina Johnson ’14, co-founder with her mom of the manufacturing company Upcycle it Now, took matters into her own hands to help out the SoCal community while her regular business was put to a halt due to COVID-19.

Upcycle it Now has produced 3,000 masks and counting by using donated materials such as quilting cotton and lightly used sheets. They’ve distributed masks to hospitals, essential workers, first responders and nurses, as well as organizations like Meals on Wheels and Food Finders.

“We’re a small team but we’re still trying to crank them out as quickly as we can. The demand is so high and people are waiting for weeks to get masks, so it’s great to get even a little bit out there” she said.

Thank you, Christina!
