Event Date
Attention NYC Aggies! Are you unable to travel back to Davis for Picnic Day but still want to celebrate this campus tradition? Join the New York City Alumni Network in revitalizing Padre Plaza Success Garden. There's no better way to celebrate Picnic Day than by giving back to the community!
We're partnering with New York Cares for this community service project. The Padre Plaza Success Garden is a community garden covering 3/4 of an acre and serves the neighborhood of Mott Haven by providing plant-growing spaces for local residents, summer programming for youth and community event space. Work to paint garden gates and furniture, rake and compost leaves, repair planting beds, and prepare the garden to welcome the residents of the community.
Space is limited and advanced registration is required. All volunteers will need to complete a quick 10 minute orientation on the New York Cares website. We will follow up with next steps after you register.
Let’s come together as a community to care for public spaces and show how beautiful they can be!
