About the Speaker
Alexander Reyes is a seasoned Talent Acquisition Leader with 18 years of experience across Big Tech, higher education, and staffing. He currently oversees recruiting operations at the University of California, Davis, where he manages high‑volume hiring across more than 22 academic, research, and administrative units statewide—supporting a community of over 30,000 students, staff, and faculty.
Prior to UC Davis, Alexander spent seven years at Meta, where he led global inclusive excellence initiatives and technical recruiting programs. His work generated measurable impact, including a 200% year‑over‑year increase in Veteran representation and the expansion of Meta’s software engineering pipeline by more than 11,000 candidates.
Alexander is recognized for building inclusive, data‑driven hiring systems; improving operational efficiency; and developing scalable recruiting strategies that elevate both candidate experience and organizational performance. His leadership philosophy is shaped by 13 years of service in the U.S. Air Force Reserve, including two overseas deployments and a special duty tour as a First Sergeant—an experience that grounds his people‑first, mission‑centered approach.
During his time as a Career Coach, Alexander has helped emerging and established professionals secure roles at top companies such as TikTok, Apple, Meta, and Microsoft through strategic storytelling, targeted interview preparation, and structured career navigation.
Outside of work, Alexander enjoys spending time with his family, competitive VR gaming, and telling a good dad joke whenever the moment calls for it.
