About Winery: Honig is a family owned vineyard and winery with a focus on quality and sustainability, and happens to be located in one of the most enviable places in the wine world - Rutherford, Napa Valley. The winery has a humorous personality, sustainable stewardship, and their focus on just two wines: Sauvignon Blanc and Cabernet Sauvignon. Sauvignon Blanc wasn’t the popular grape it is today when Michael Honig – then just 22 -- took over the family business and committed to it. However, Michael's persistence paid off, propelling Honig’s Sauvignon Blanc to the widespread acclaim it now enjoys.

Aggie Connection: It wasn’t until Ashley Egelhoff started her first year at UC Davis that she was introduced to the idea of winemaking as a career. After taking an Introduction to Winemaking course, she transferred to the Viticulture and Enology department and graduated with a BS in Viticulture and Enology. Ashley then spent two years working at wineries around the world before joining the Honig team as an Enologist, and was later promoted to Assistant Winemaker.
