Makasi Wine

About Winery: Their wines are produced and bottled by hand on Treasure Island, amid the San Francisco Bay, in a collective winemaking facility housed in an old WWII Naval Post Exchange. Cooling air from the Golden Gate pours through to create idyllic cave-like conditions in which to age our wines. Danny has been prolifically making wines for over 10 years for household names, small private labels, and clients' personal collections. After many successful launches for others, he's now doing it on his terms to create exceptional wine for you.

Aggie Connection: Danny’s first experience with wine was working with a company that specialized in liquid foodstuff commerce while in Austria. Eventually, Danny decided he wanted to produce wine himself, and applied to UC Davis, where he graduated with a B.S. in Viticulture and Enology in 2006. In 2019, his wife and younger brother convinced him to start his own winery, which he named “Makasi”, meaning '"thanks" as an homage to his wife.
