About Winery: In 2007 we secured a small hillside parcel, just outside of Calistoga, with the most amazing views of the Palisades mountain range. Just minutes south of the Maldonado Winery and caves is a newer planting of Cabernet Sauvignon. Calistoga is the perfect AVA for growing this hearty red grape. The Vineyard (Lovingly referred to as 'Hawk's Nest' ) has begun producing beautiful fruit from the 4 acre hillside planting.

Aggie Connection: Owner-winemaker Hugo Maldonado comes from a vineyard management background, working alongside his father Lupe Maldonado and learning the importance of vineyard care at Newton Vineyards. Our winery is in the form of a cave looking south toward the Palisade Mountain range in Calistoga. Though small, it accounts for the roughly 6000 case production that Maldonado Family Vineyards currently produces under the Maldonado Label and our second label called Farm Worker.

Alum: Hugo Maldonado, Owner & Winemaker
