About Winery: Three Wine Company is a family-run winery founded by winemaker Matt Cline and his wife Erin, focusing on sustainable farming practices and a hands-on approach to winemaking. Matt, with over 30 years of experience, personally samples every vineyard used in their wines, ensuring a close connection to the process. The winery is dedicated to preserving historic California varietals like Zinfandel, Mataro, and Carignane, even successfully advocating for the preservation of a historic vineyard in 2014. Through their sustainable practices and commitment to education, Three Wine Company offers a personal and authentic winemaking experience.

Aggie Connection: Matt earned his first degree in entomology at UC Berkeley in 1984 before enrolling in V&E at UC Davis in 1985, thus solidifying his passion for winemaking. That same year he partnered with his brother and became the winemaker and creative director at Cline Cellars which was named Wine & Spirits Magazine's American Winery of the Year in both 1999 and 2001. Matt and his wife Erin wanted their own smaller production winery and they later started Three Wine Company which has an unrivaled focus on the ancient vines of Contra Costa County.
