Built in 1940, Peter J. Shields Library has grown to house a collection of over 10 million volumes, and is ranked in the top 100 academic research libraries in North America. Shields Library supports students in many ways, aiding in the process of locating and developing research, designing a research project, and preserving research. Shields Library is also a great place to study, with study spots all around and designated study rooms available for students to reserve.
The Shields Library is located in the heart of campus, off the quad. There is no visitor parking at the Library itself. When timing your arrival for the tour, we recommend taking this into account and giving yourself some additional travel time.
Recommended parking: VP 5, Quad Parking Structure, Gateway Parking Structure
