Nestor Lopez

Nestor Lopez joined the Cal Aggie Alumni Association Programs Team as Assistant Director of Alumni Engagement in October of 2023. He primarily works with CAAA’s International and Affinity/Identity-based Networks. This includes coordinating network events, growing the visibility and reach of the Alumni Association, and managing the CAAA Affinity Network Scholarships

He is a proud Aggie originally from Gilroy, California. Being the first in his family to graduate from college, he attended UC Davis and graduated with a BA in Political Science and Communications in 2016. While at UC Davis he also worked as a Resident Advisor, participated in UCD Study Abroad, and the UCDC Program. Upon completion of his degree and UCDC program, he moved back to Davis to work in Sacramento in the California State Assembly for six years. While in the Assembly, Nestor worked on several policy topics, including but not limited to Higher Education, Human Services, Agriculture, and Local Government. Nestor is excited to return to his alma mater and give back to the community and institution that became his second home.

In his spare time, he likes to cook and try new types of cuisine. He enjoys hiking, particularly in the redwoods. Finally, he loves traveling anywhere new and exciting.
