Calling all Aggies in Arizona! The Arizona Alumni Network is hosting a group hike in Sabino Canyon Recreation Area along the Upper Sabino Canyon Road Trail. This is a moderate hike with views of steep rock cliffs and unique desert vegetation. Pack a lunch/snack for an early Picnic Day celebration for those not able to make it back to Davis on April 12th.
Please arrive by 8:45am, as the hike will begin at 9am. For those interested in carpooling, there is a sign-up below.
HIKE DETAILS:
- When: Sunday, March 2, 2025
- Arrive at 8:45am to start hiking at 9am
- Where: Upper Sabino Canyon Road Trail, Sabino Canyon Recreation Area
- Meet in the Visitor Center Parking Lot.
- Trail Details: The Upper Sabino Canyon Road Trail is an out and back hike from the Visitor Center Parking Lot
- 3.8 miles one way, 7.6 round trip
- 1,033’ elevation change
- Trail is paved
- Moderate difficulty level

- What To Bring:
- Snack/lunch
- Light jacket
- Sun protection (hat, sunscreen)
- Adequate walking shoes
- Water
- Cost: $8 for Sabino Canyon Recreation Area Day Pass or free for anyone with a Coronado National Forest Annual Pass
- The day pass can be purchased at the Visitor Center, at the kiosk in the parking area near the Visitor Center, or online thru Recreation.gov.
