The Alumni Wine Series

Alumni III marks the third year we've produced an exclusive wine during the Art & Science of Blending Wine, hosted by Patrick Saboe '02 of the Wine Foundry in Napa Valley. This one-of-a-kind event gives alumni and their friends the opportunity to experience the art and science of blending while competing as teams for the winning wine.

Introducing Alumni III

Alumni III is a 2022 Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon sourced from premier vineyards in the valley floor and mountains of the world renowned Napa Valley wine region, famous for its Cabernet Sauvignon wines.

The winning blend from Table 5, pictured, is 90% Cabernet Sauvignon, 5% Cabernet Franc, 3% Petit Verdot and 2% Malbec. Patrick then recreates the blend at his winery before bottling and labeling for Aggies Uncorked.

Wine Benefits

The Alumni Wine Series is not just another wine program. It's a full circle of wine education and experience. The wines are made by alum, blended by alum, and enjoyed by alum, parents, and their friends.

Plus, a portion of all proceeds from Alumni wines and the Aggies Uncorked wine club supports a scholarship for a Viticulture and Enology student. With the Alumni Series, you are doing more than just purchasing a bottle of wine - you are supporting and promoting the impact of UC Davis Viticulture and Enology.

How to Purchase

We use an allocation system because the wine is produced in limited quantities and we want to ensure members can access the wines first, and at a special price. Both Alumni I and Alumni II are sold out.
  
The wine club and allocation price is $49/bottle.  Any wine remaining after the Fall 2025 shipment will be open for general purchase at the retail price of $59/bottle.

Active club members will receive 1-2 bottles of Alumni III in the Fall 2025 wine club shipment. 3 bottle members will receive 1 bottle, 6 bottle members receive 2 bottles.

To order additional Alumni III, members can secure an allocation during the order window.  An email will be sent out on September 3rd to order your wines.  An allocation secures your wine, but you will not be charged until mid October when the wine club orders are processed.

Oct 24th: Fall wine club orders are processed and credit cards charged
Oct 27th: Fall wine club ships
Nov 5th: Release party and virtual tasting for Fall 2025 club
Nov 15th: 5th Anniversary Wine Club Celebration and Tasting
Nov 17th (pending): Any remaining Alumni III will be available at retail price of $59/bottle
