Connecting with UC Davis Families and Supporting Student Success
As another exciting year gets underway at UC Davis, students and families are settling into campus life and all that the Aggie experience has to offer. With a new school year comes new opportunities to connect with the university, and I’m delighted to introduce myself as the new associate director of development for Parent Giving.
I joined UC Davis in April 2024 as the assistant director of development for digital engagement, where I worked with alumni, friends and parents to connect their philanthropic interests with programs and opportunities making an impact across the university. I’m excited to continue that work in my new role, with a special focus on getting to know UC Davis families and helping them find meaningful ways to support the student experience.
My path to UC Davis has taken me through a few different worlds. I grew up in Sonoma and graduated from the University of Oregon before spending several years in the wine industry. I later transitioned to the Gardens of Golden Gate Park, where I managed grants supporting the San Francisco Botanical Garden, Japanese Tea Garden and Conservatory of Flowers. Across these experiences, I’ve found that the most rewarding opportunities are those that connect people with ways to make a positive difference—and that’s one of the many things I value about UC Davis.
I’m especially looking forward to meeting more UC Davis families and hearing about your students’ experiences. As someone who loves meeting people from all walks of life, I’m excited to learn what matters most to your family and explore ways you can make a meaningful difference at UC Davis.
I hope to see many of you during Parent & Family Weekend, November 6–8. I’ll be tabling with the Student Foundation at the football game on November 7, and we’ll also be holding the first Parent & Family Council meeting. I’d love for you to stop by, introduce yourself and learn more about the many ways you can stay connected and engaged with UC Davis.
I’m thrilled to begin this next chapter with UC Davis families and look forward to getting to know you. Together, we can help create meaningful opportunities for Aggies today while strengthening the university for generations to come.
Kindest regards,
Leslie
