Parents' guide to Aggie Spirit Week 2022

Aggie Spirit Week is the opportunity for UC Davis to celebrate Homecoming, Parent & Family Weekend, and campus-wide events for Aggies across the globe. There are tons of fun-filled events happening the week of October 10-16, 2022. Our Aggie Parent and Family Council shares some of the events that they are most looking forward to during Aggie Spirit Week.

Aggie Parent and Family Council recommended events for those visiting campus: 

Friday 10/14:

Homecoming Pep Rally 

When: Friday, October 14th @ 12:00pm - 2:00pm 

Where: Silo Patio

Get your head in the game and rally around our UC Davis Football team at the Homecoming Pep Rally as they get pumped to play Northern Arizona! Don’t miss the chance to take a selfie with Gunrock, watch our cheer and dance team, play games and dance to the UC Davis Marching Band.

Aggie Hour at The Gunrock 

When: Friday, October 14th @ 4:00pm - 6:00pm

Where: The Gunrock is located in the Silo Restaurant Complex

Start your Aggie Spirit Week festivities with a beverage at The Gunrock!

Join fellow Aggies for a beer in the afternoon, conversation and some cornhole and other games while enjoying appetizers and a beer with your friends and family. Enjoy $2 off draft pints and 20% off select items. 

Discover Davis 2022

When: Friday, October 14th @ 5:30pm - 8:00pm

Where: Downtown Davis

Presented by The Davis Chamber and Recology Davis, Discover Davis is a chance to explore the city, people and opportunties. The event is co-sponsored by Sudwerk Brewing Co. and is in partnership with UC Davis Alumni and Affiliate Relations and the Cal Aggie Alumni Center.

Homecoming Aggie Football 2022 and Ice Cream Social

When: Saturday, October 15th @ 2:00pm - 8:00pm

Where: UC Davis Health Stadium

Join us in cheering on our UC Davis Aggies football team at our Homecoming game against the Northern Arizona on Saturday, October 15th! 

When you purchase with the CAAAHOMECOMING promo code, you are automatically invited to the exclusive pre-game Ice Cream Social and your game seats will be in Section 124 with fellow Aggie alumni and parents.

  • Go for a walk in the UC Davis arboretum 
  • Stop at a shop in Downtown Davis 
  • Eat at the Silo 
  • Visit the cows (located next to Kearney Hall in the Tercero Residence Halls) 
  • Ask your student for a tour of their lecture halls/favorite areas on campus
  • Hop on a bike or bring your own and explore UC Davis
    •  You can rent a bike at the bike barn or another place in Davis/on campus 
  • Visit the campus bookstore located next to the Memorial Union
  • Visit the Shrem Museum

Food Recommendations: 

Many fantastic eateries both on the UC Davis campus and in downtown will be open throughout the week. There are several popular restaurants in downtown Davis, including Burgers and Brew, Davis Creamery, Paesanos, Woodstock's Pizza, Crepeville, Cafe Bernardo, and El Patio Fresh Mexican Grill. 

On-campus dining options: 

If your student is living in the residence halls, join them at the dining commons! Your student can use their Aggie cash to swipe you in, or you can purchase each meal separately. Meal prices are as follows: 

Breakfast: $11.50 plus tax
Lunch: $12.50 plus tax
Dinner: $14.50 plus tax

Please note: On Wednesday, October 12th, the Segundo Dining Commons is hosting their first annual Harvest Festival from 4:00pm - 9:00pm, and the dinner price will be $15.50.

Parking:

UC Davis uses ParkMobile, an app that allows drivers to conduct parking permit transactions from their mobile devices. The daily rates range from $2.00-3.60, for students, staff and faculty to $12/day for visitors. You can visit here for more information on parking.

Permits are required to park on campus Monday - Friday from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m., and on weekends when event attendants are present.  Event rates may be in effect for parking lots/structures adjacent to the venue, during which time hourly and reduced affiliate rates will not be available via ParkMobile. Special event parking rates may apply.
