What to Expect on Your Student’s First Visit Back Home

Going off to college makes for an exciting time in the life of the student, as they adjust to their new environment, roles, responsibilities and their first real taste of independence. It’s different than going off to summer camp.

For many students, this is their first time away from home for a longer period of time. As parents, we eagerly anticipate their first visit home, unless you live fairly close to campus, where weekend visits are possible.

Building Your Career with the Support of an Alumni Network

Aggie alumni have built their careers in all 50 states, and the Cal Aggie Alumni Association (CAAA) makes it a priority to connect Aggies who can help each other make career connections and maintain a lifelong connection to UC Davis from anywhere in the world.

The Wine Program partnered with Bucher Wines and brick & mortar wines to create Aggie Traditions, a perfect wine pairing to enjoy with friends, family and fellow Aggies.

Parent and Family Programs will host a booth at the UC Davis Bookstore. We will have a letter writing station where parents can write their student a personal note. Their message will be delivered to their student in the first week of school. Additionally, parents are invited to explore campus through our Authentic Aggie tours.

Wine Done Differently

Gina Schober ’07 has pleasant memories of spending her summers swimming and boating with family and friends. Many enjoyed a refreshing beverage during play and relaxation, but options were limited for the wine-drinkers in the group. While bringing along a bottle of wine with some cups and a corkscrew was an option, Gina thought there had to be a more convenient way. Then, while driving past the Russian River, an idea came to her: Wine in a can.
